WELCOME to all who have come to St. James to worship our Lord. Whether you are a member or a guest, we are glad that you have joined us here to hear the Word of God and to receive His gifts.
CONCERNING HOLY COMMUNION: According to Christ’s Word in Holy Scripture, and in confession of the true Christian faith, we observe the ancient evangelical practice of closed communion. We believe that those who commune together must confess the same holy faith, just as the Scriptures teach. Since one’s church affiliation indicates one’s confession of faith, only those aught to commune who are communicant members of, or whose church is in confessional fellowship with, the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. If you have any questions, or have never communed at St. James before, please contact Pastor. If you would like to receive a blessing, please cross your arms over your chest.

BIBLE STUDIES: Please join us for our Bible studies that we offer throughout the month. Adult Bible Study and Children’s Sunday School take place after church down in the Parish Hall. LWML will not meet until September. All are welcome to join us as we study God’s Word!
THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY resumed last Thursday, meeting at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Our study is centered around Gene Edward Vieth’s “The Spirituality of the Cross.” All are welcome to join.
CARD SHOWER: We will be gathering cards for Riley and Alexie Garner as they anticipate the birth of their first child. The end date for this will be Sunday, September 1st.
BABY SHOWER for Maggie Keller will take place on Sunday,, September 8th at 3 PM down in the Parish Hall. If you have any questions, please ask Sara Davis.
CHURCH DIRECTORY: We are actively updating contact information and taking photos for the new online directory. Please see a Deacon to update your data and make your way after church to our makeshift “photo booth” in the back of the sanctuary to have your picture taken. You can review the snapshots and approve the picture we’ll use. We want to have a strong sample of updated information and pictures before we go live. Thank you!
LIVE-STREAM of the service is available down in the Parish Hall for those who need to step out of the Nave during the service.

GERMAN DINNER: The date for our 40th annual Bazaar and German Dinner is Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. We will be browning the meat on Sunday, September 15th, 2024 starting at 1:30 PM in the church kitchen. We would appreciate your help. Also, if you have not already done so, please be thinking about your bazaar projects for October 8th.
